Job Description:

Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of tasks for the Pathology office including but not limited to processing incoming and outgoing FedEx, processing orders for send-out testing, accessioning cases, adding addendums, performing follow-up on pending tasks and performing filing and storage functions for slides and blocks. Updates the oncology teams on the status of test results and handles internal and external inquiries. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager, Director, and Medical Director.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma required.  Associates degree preferred. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel.

  • 2 years’ experience working in a health care Lab setting preferred.

Skills:  

  • Professional demeanor, effective collaboration and communication skills ensuring team work with co-workers, other hospital staff, physicians and clients.

  • Well acquainted with pathology and laboratory medicine terminology.

  • Excellent organizational, customer service, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
