Job Summary:

The CNO serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. This position provides strategic, operational and tactical leadership for clinical care and implements strategic priorities. As a clinically driven organization, the Chief Nurse Officer (CNO) is accountable for the effective leadership, management, and oversight of all nursing functions and patient care services and collaborates in the development of the vision and strategy for nursing and clinical services for all settings across the region of CTCA Chicago.  The CNO is responsible for the advancement of patient care services and supports clinical innovation across the continuum of care with a focus on both strategy and operations. As a member of the executive team, serves as a co-leader with the CMO for the clinical environment by guiding the leadership, development, planning, organizing, implementing and management of clinical care operations. The CNO is accountable for setting vision, direction and decision making that supports and enhances the Magnet culture. Also leads initiatives to advance care and quality outcomes across the operation in an integrated and cost-effective manner. CNO leads nursing productivity, staffing management standards and fiscal responsibility for the organization as well as nursing leadership development and succession planning.  In addition to accountability for all nursing functions, the CNO is also responsible to partner with the other local and system leaders to integrate care delivery and operations across the care continuum to ensure a consistently excellent patient experience, while managing the total cost of care.

Education & Licensure:            

Registered Nurse with current State Illinois License

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Master’s degree - MSN/MS/MBA/MHA




Minimum of five (5)+ years’ progressive executive leadership (5+ yrs) experience                                

Leadership role within a Magnet organization

Demonstrated ability to navigate a complex and changing care delivery and financing healthcare environment
