Job Description:

Hours: M-F - day shift - no call

Job Summary/Purpose:

Professional caregiver, who assumes responsibility and accountability to:

  • Provides mammography and DEXA imaging while fostering a caring environment
  • Operates Imaging equipment within the Mammography and Dexa suite to produce quality imaging while properly following regulatory requirements and Radiation Safety protocols
  • Perform procedural clinical documentation and enter supply charges
  • Maintains a quality assurance program according to FDA and MQSA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology

  • Licensed in the State of Illinois

  • A.R.R.T. registered

  • Must have been certified in mammography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists prior to April 1999; or

  • Must have 40 contact hours of documented training specific to mammography under the supervision of a qualified instructor.  These areas to include: anatomy and physiology, positioning and compression, quality control/assurance and imaging patients with implants; and have performed 25 exams under the direct supervision of a qualified individual and have completed 8 hours of training in each mammographic modality used by the technologist.
